BEFORE YOU CAN USE OUR VCHECK SERVICE, 
WE NEED TO OBTAIN YOUR AGREEMENT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS
Vcheck Agreement

This Agreement sets forth the terms of the Vcheck tax payment service (“Service”) offered to you by the Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector ( “we”, “us” or “our”). By clicking the "Next" button below, you are agreeing to these terms. 
Collection of Taxes by Vcheck.   If you authorize us to collect tax obligations through this Service, we will create a written demand draft (“Vcheck”) and present it to your financial institution for payment against your designated account. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in your designated account.

Your Representations.   You represent to us that: (i) the information you provide to us in connection with this Service will be accurate; (ii) you have the right to authorize us to obtain payment from the account designated in your instruction; and (iii) no other person’s authorization or action is needed to approve our creation and processing of the Vcheck against your designated account.

Security.   For security reasons, you agree to maintain the confidentiality and security of the “PIN” number (the “password”) shown on the tax bill. If you provide the password to someone else, you will be responsible for their actions in connection with this Service.

Payment Date.   Your Vcheck payment is deemed received at the time you click the “Submit Payment” button for a payment if we confirm the transaction and provide you with a confirmation number. We may process your Vcheck immediately, even if it is before the date the payment is due.

Payment Confirmation Number.   A payment is not deemed made until we provide you with an online confirmation number for such payment. You can download or print a copy of the confirmation number and an image of the Vcheck for your records.

Returned Vcheck.   If the Vcheck is not honored for any reason (e.g., because you do not have sufficient funds in your account), the taxes covered by the Vcheck will remain outstanding and will be subject to late payment penalties if their payment is delinquent. You agree to pay $50.00 to us for each Vcheck that is returned unpaid for any reason.

Electronic Communications.   Any notice or other type of information that is provided to you in connection with this Service, such as this Agreement, the Terms of Use, Privacy & Security Policy, payment confirmations, amendments, and other Service information (“Communications”), may be sent to you electronically (e.g., by posting the information at this Site, or by sending it to your e-mail address). We will not be obligated to provide any Communication to you in paper form. If you do not agree to electronic Communications, you agree not to use the Vcheck Service and should click the “Disagree” button below.

In order to use our Service, you will need a working connection to the Internet from a personal computer device. The Service may not function properly using Web-enabled television, cellular telephone or similar connections. Your Internet browser must support the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), 128-bit encryption protocol. Netscape 6.X or higher and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.X or higher support this feature. You also will need either a printer connected to your computer to print Communications or sufficient hard drive space available to save the information. You must have your own Internet service provider (ISP), as we do not provide ISP services.

Limitation of Liability.   We offer the Vcheck Service as a courtesy only. We assume no obligation to ensure that it is available for your use. There may be times when the Service is unavailable due to system maintenance or outages. In addition, if you do not have your PIN number, you cannot use the system. State law mandates that a penalty is assessed if a payment is received after the delinquency date. Therefore, if the system is unavailable or you do not have your PIN number, use an alternate payment method.

Amendments/Termination.   We reserve the right to amend (add to, delete or change) the terms of this Agreement and the Vcheck program. We may terminate your use of the Vcheck Service at any time, without cause or prior notice.

You will need your six digit PIN number that is located on the left hand side, just below the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) Number on your original annual tax bill. This number is also printed on various payment notices issued by the Treasurer and Tax Collector. You must enter this number in order to continue with the processing of your property tax payment. If you do not have your PIN number, please email us at ttcvcheck@ttc.lacounty.gov and we will send a copy of the original bill to the address of the record. Please note, for security purposes, we cannot reveal your PIN number over the telephone.
